Safari by the minute
Begin your day by driving to the KWS floating jetty in Shimoni, arriving around 8:30 a.m. Upon arrival, handle the Kenya Wildlife Services rangers’ ticket checks for the marine park, then board our comfortable Arabian-style dhow, greeted by a cheerful crew serving Kenyan coffee or tea with biscuits. You’ll receive a full briefing on the facilities and itinerary. As you cruise past Mpunguti ya juu and Mpunguti ya Chini on your way to Kisite Marine Park, enjoy sailing or motoring while searching for dolphins. Guided snorkeling in protected waters will showcase vibrant fish and corals, with assistance and safety gear provided. After visiting one or two snorkeling sites, relax at our private island residence on Wasini for a delicious crab and fish lunch, with vegetarian and chicken options.
The day concludes with a boat trip back to Shimoni, possibly including a short forest walk and a visit to the Shimoni Slave Caves Community Project. All equipment and refreshments are provided, making this an educational and colorful day of exploration.
