Rift Valley - geology and adventure

After several years of preparation and several personal test safaris, I am pleased to offer you the new RIFT VALLEY EXPLORER Safari.

This 7 nights adventure safari takes you to the southwest of Kenya with its unique landscapes and lakes.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1
arrival Nairobi / Aberdares

This tour starts in Nairobi, where we will pick you up from the international airport.

After a short refreshment, it's off to Aberdares, where the Sandai Farm is already waiting for you.

Once there, you can relax and recover something from the journey. A great lunch can do wonders.

In the afternoon, we plan to travel with you to the Aberdare Country Club. Here you can visit the small but fine in-house zoo - a little taste of the next days.

We deliberately kept the first day stress-free.

Day 2
Aberdares / Solio Park

In the morning you will start in a fascinating park - the Solio Rhino Reserve.

Whoever wants to see rhinos - here they are guaranteed. An impressive experience rounded off with a Bush lunch. You'll see how different a park looks like, where there are no elephants - suddenly there are lots of trees!

In the afternoon you have the opportunity to start a guided horse ride on the Sandai own horses. An experience that does not happen too often in Kenya. The boss Petra offers this for both beginners and advanced riders.

Day 3
Lake Naivasha

After breakfast it is time to say goodbye and go into the fascinating world of the Kenyan Lakes.

Our first stop is the Elsamere Lodge on Lake Naivasha, a lodge with a colonial safari feeling. Here Joy and George Adamson lived their lives, which became known through books and experiences with their lioness Elsa.

In the afternoon we will do a great boat tour, where the flamingos are waiting for you - a unique experience. The tour takes you to Crescent Island and many small coves with unique wildlife.

Day 4
Lake Nakuru

After breakfast we continue to the next of the fascinating lakes in the Rift Valley - Lake Nakuru.

Once there, we take a game drive into the Nakuru National Park before we check in at Flamingo Hill Camp around noon and a great lunch is ready for you.

In the afternoon we return to the Nakuru National Park, which in addition to its unique bird life also has a large population of rhinos ready for you to find there.

Day 5
Masai Mara

Today we leave after the rich breakfast the water landscapes and drive into the by far most wildlife-rich national park of Kenya - the Masai Mara.

The drive there is already a great game drive, ending at Ilkeliani Mara Camp, where Charles and his team will make you a great stay.

Not for nothing the Ilkeliani received the Excellence Award from TripAdvisor last year.

If you have rested a bit, in the afternoon we will start with an afternoon game drive into the Masai Mara.

In the evening a dinner awaits you with a romantic campfire.

Day 6 - Masai Mara

Today cats are on the program.

There is no park in Kenya where the cats are as numerous as the Masai Mara. Get ready for an unforgettable day with a total of 3 game drives.

Together with the Ilkeliani team, you can decide if you would like to make a Bush breakfast - that is, having breakfast in the wild - that's something you have to do.

Day 7
Masai Mara

We have designed the tour so that you have enough time to explore the Masai Mara.

Today there is enough time to look for the small undiscovered animals - besides the elephants and giraffes.

Since the Ilkeliani is located directly on the Talek River, you can also make a nice nature walk with the team. Here we show you the close environment from an unusual perspective.

Day 8
Masai Mara / Diani Beach

So slowly the Masai Mara time comes to an end today. Until noon, it goes again in the national park, where you can say goodbye in peace from the safari part of your holiday.

After lunch go to the Airstrip, where your plane to Diani Beach is already waiting for you.

Let's go to the south coast

At 16:00 you will land in Diani Beach, where we will pick you up and accompany you to your holiday hotel.
